Susan N. Custer, Paralegal
I have been in the matrimonial and family law field for
over three years, but I have been in the legal profession for more
than five years. I began my career in the legal profession at a
70-partner law firm in Roanoke, Virginia while I was enrolled in
college. During my tenure there I had the opportunity to work in
many various areas of law, such as medical malpractice and insurance
law.
Since moving to New York, I have worked primarily with solo practitioners in matrimonial and family law. Matrimonial and family law clients are unique because while they come from all walks of life, work in all different professions and have diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, each client is experiencing an emotionally turbulent moment that needs our special attention. Marilyn and I work as a team, in conjunction with our clients, to try to resolve their legal issues in the most constructive way possible. In particular, we are able to offer the kind of close, personal attention to each client's particular situation that one does not traditionally find in larger practices. I find matrimonial and family law very rewarding, because what we do has such an impact on our clients' lives.
On a more personal note, I have a lifelong interest
in the fields of music, technology, biology and psychology. I am
an avid reader, an aspiring computer geek, and the mother of one
child. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English from Roanoke College.
I have been an affiliate member of the Onondaga County Bar Association
since 2003 and I am also a Notary Public.
